Application Process

1. Which documents do I need to submit with my application? 

See here.

2. Do I need to notarize my academic degree certificate? 

You do not need to submit notarized documents when you apply, but we might ask you to do so if you are shortlisted.

3. Do I need to notarize my NRC? 

No.

4. Is there any word limit for essays? 

Yes. You will need to submit two essays of maximum 700 words each.

5. Please explain the formation of recommendation letters. 

We provide a suggested template, however, you are not required to follow that format. Letters should comment on your suitability to receive a DISP scholarship and your ability to succeed in your chosen program. Sample template will not be uploaded on the website, and it will be available only in the application form. 

6. Can the recommendation letter be in Burmese?

English is preferable, but we will accept it in Burmese. If you are shortlisted for final selection, your recommendation letters may need to be translated into English.

7. Can we submit two professional recommendation letters from the same organization?

Yes, you can submit more than one recommendation letter from the same organization.

8. Who should I ask to write the recommendation letter? 

Recommendation letters can be from people who can comment on your general suitability to receive a DISP scholarship. They should know you either in an academic or professional capacity and they CANNOT be relatives or friends.

9. How many recommendation letters do I need to submit?

You need to submit three recommendation letters.   

10. Can I change my personal information if I make a mistake in my application?

It is not possible to change your personal information once you have submitted your application. If you have made a critical mistake, please email the program team.

11. If I am having problems getting transcripts from my university for some reason, how should I proceed?

DISP cannot advise on how you should obtain your transcripts. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all required documents are submitted.

12. I have already applied with one email address. Can I apply with another email address?

No, please apply once with one email address.
